In 2021, approximately a quarter of consumers in the Netherlands said they would prefer not to give or receive Sinterklaas and Christmas presents during the holidays. Dutch men of all ages were typically less excited about presents: about ** percent of surveyed men stated they would favor foregoing holiday gift traditions. Women, on the other hand, were usually more in favor of giving and receiving presents, with the exception of those aged 60 and over.
