During the first period of lockdown in France (March 17 to May 11, 2020), circumstances favored the increase of domestic violence. When interviewed, approximately **** percent of women in France claimed to be the victim of domestic abuse during lockdown in 2020; for women with children, this figure rose to ** percent. Women with or more children were most affected by this violence: the proportion of victims among women with no children was percent, compared to ** percent among women with at least children.
