During the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, exhibition companies worldwide canceled several in-person events and explored digital formats in 2020 and 2021. According to a June 2021 study, ** percent of exhibition fairs in Europe were planned as virtual events in 2021, and ** percent of fairs in the Asia and Pacific region were organized as hybrid events. Meanwhile, ** percent of North American exhibition fairs were projected to take place in person in 2021.
