Business travel in France - Statistics & Facts
Unlike leisure travel, business travel is a branch of the tourism industry referring to tourists who travel for business or professional purposes. According to the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC), the share of the direct contribution of business travel expenditure to GDP in France amounted to 16 percent in 2020. In that year, business tourism spending of G20 countries underwent a decline due to the impact of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. In particular, business tourism spending in France decreased by more than half compared to the previous year, reaching 16.2 billion U.S. dollars.
