The coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic hit the global business tourism industry hard as the ability to travel was limited in order to reduce the spread of the virus. According to an April 2021 survey, ** percent of respondents stated that their companies have considered resuming domestic business travels in the near future, between one to three months. In contrast, just ** percent of respondents believed that their firms would resume international business trips within the same timespan.
