Between 2015 and 2022, the proportion of the global population with basic handwashing facilities at home increased from 67 percent to 75 percent. Despite this increase, an estimated 30 percent of the global population (roughly 2.3 billion people) lacked basic services. Of this total, almost 700 million people had no handwashing facilities at home.
