Most actors in the Moroccan crafts industry as of 2018 were urban artisans, representing 68.5 percent of the total employment in the sector. Moreover, while 29.8 percent of the people employed worked in rural mono-craftsman units, 1.7 percent were in small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Overall, as of May 2021, the main contributor to the craft industry in Morocco was pottery and stone, with an export value reaching around 91.7 million Moroccan dirhams, roughly 10.2 million U.S. dollars.
