Main issues concerning museums worldwide during COVID-19 in 2021
The coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic hit the museum sector hard in 2020 and 2021, with many institutions across the globe having to be close to the public for long periods. According to a May 2021 survey, nearly half of surveyed museum employees and governance worldwide were concerned about reducing public exhibitions due to the economic impact of the health crisis. Meanwhile, roughly ** percent of respondents expressed concern about suspending freelance or temporary contracts.
