Supplementary notes
The SDG Index describes countries progress towards achieving the SDGs. The overall SDG Index score and scores for individual SDGs can be interpreted as a percentage of optimal performance. The difference between a country’s score and 100 is therefore the distance, in percentage points, that needs to be overcome to reach optimum SDG performance. The same basket of indicators is used for all countries to generate the SDG Index score and rankings. The score scales ranges from 0 (worst) to 100 (best) points. Further information about the index methodology can be found .
