The statistic shows the share of respondents who chose "very important" or "rather important" for the respective aspect.
The survey sample was selected by region, age, and gender using data from the Japanese national census.
In a survey conducted in 2019, 98.2 percent of respondents in Japan stated that family was "very important or "rather important" in life. While family has been considered an important aspect of life continuously, the importance attributed to work has declined since the 1990s.
