Amidst the COVID-19 outbreak in Mexico, the National Employment Survey in Mexico, known as 'Encuesta Nacional de Ocupación y Empleo (ENOE)', had to be cancelled until further notice. As a result, the National Institute of Statistics and Geography, known as 'Instituto Nacional de GeografÃa y EstadÃstica (INEGI)', carried out a National Employment Telephone Survey- 'Encuesta Telefónica de Ocupación y Empleo (ETOE)'. The survey is meant to monitor the employment environment in the country during the lockdown period.
Due to a difference in methodology ENOE data should only serve as a reference in comparison to ETOE data. ETOE is not a continuation of ENOE.
