Most of the economically active population in Mexico is made up of employed people. In the first quarter of 2024, a total of 60.66 million residents in Mexico were considered economically active. More than 97 percent of them, around 59 million, carried out some kind of remunerated economic activity and were therefore considered fully or partly employed. The quantity of people who were either unemployed or searching for a job neared 1.5 million that same quarter.
