Around three out of five (60 percent of) communications professionals surveyed in Brazil in 2018 said social media were the source of fake news that had affected the companies they worked at. Approximately ** percent mentioned mass media. Most Brazilians who participated in another survey years later stated that there should be a law obliging social media companies to protect users from fake news.
