A survey held in the United States in December 2020 found that the majority of respondents believed the problem of fake news would get worse over the next five years, with 35.5 percent feeling that this would be the case. Meanwhile, 25.9 percent said that they thought the situation would improve, and a similar share expected the problem to remain the same.
