Brazil: opinion on obliging social media to protect users from fake news 2020
During a survey conducted in Brazil in late May 2020, nine out of ten respondents said there should be a law to oblige social media companies to protect the Brazilian society from fake news and disinformation. Around eight percent disagreed. In 2019, approximately 44 percent of Brazilians who participated in another survey stated that they trusted media as a source of reliable information.
