In 2019, warungs were the most preferred purchasing channels by Indonesians at ** percent followed, by minimarkets at ** percent. Street hawkers were the least preferred at percent. According to the survey, respondents preferred modern trade channels over traditional ones overall. However, warungs may still be popular amongst those in residential areas as they are better able to cater to localized demand.
