According to the card payment data of S-Bank, consumer behavior in Finland changed noticeably starting from week ** of March 2020 following the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak. Especially alcohol sales peaked in April, while spending on restaurants, clothing stores, and taxi services dropped at the same time. Consumer spending on groceries increased in the beginning of March and then decreased slightly, before picking up again in May. Starting from May, clothing spending among Finns started to increase, although it did not reach the pre-COVID level.
