Currently, Belgium is a federal state, in which the three regions Flanders, Wallonia and the Brussels-Capital Region each have their own government. The majority of respondents in Flanders taking part in this survey were satisfied with this solution, as over ** percent stated this was their preferred government system for their region. **** percent was in favor of a unitary state (without regional governments), and just over ** percent would prefer to see independent regions which decide among themselves which responsibilities should remain joined.
