The past year has seen a range of crises mount significant challenges to businesses worldwide. For many, the key to navigating these economic headwinds lies in the effective use of data, with advanced analytics enabling organizations to better navigate shortages, delays and disruptions. These efforts are increasingly being led by a relatively new additions to the c-suite – the Chief Data Officer (CDO). The share of leading global firms with a CDO rose to 27 percent in 2022, up from 21 percent the previous year. The role is particularly prevalent in Europe, with over 40 percent of top European firms looking to a CDO for data leadership.
