According to a 2022 study, the vast majority of leading firms with a Chief Data Officer (CDO) saw higher revenue growth rates between than firms without a CDO in place. The relative difference was greatest in the energy sector, followed by utilities and real estate. Many large firms have appointed senior data executives in recent years as they look to implement an effective data strategy and improve data governance and compliance.
