Travel and tourism in Czechia - statistics & facts
The Czech tourism industry has demonstrated remarkable resilience in the face of recent challenges. After a significant decline in 2020, when tourism GDP dropped to 84 billion koruna due to the COVID-19 outbreak, the sector has since rebounded strongly. In 2023, the gross domestic product generated by tourism had more than doubled. Prague continues to dominate Czech tourism, welcoming over eight million guests in 2024 and reinforcing its position as the country’s most visited region. However, the tourism landscape in Czechia extends beyond the capital. The South Bohemian region continues to attract both domestic and international visitors; South Moravia is especially popular among domestic tourists.
