Data were acquired in two ways: 1. students took part to a survey answering a questionnaire, 2. school documents were consulted in order to gain information about gender, age, grades, citizenship, school credit, and type of diploma.
*about 50 percent answered.

Share of high school graduates with good language skills in Italy 2021, by gender
According to a survey conducted in Italy in 2021, the share of female students with at least a ** language knowledge level was almost double compared to male students in all the considered languages. About **** percent of female students reached such a level in spoken French, while **** percent of male students had an equivalent knowledge.
