In a survey conducted in 2024, 92 percent of Italian high school graduates that decided to continue their studies stated that they did so because the job they were interested in required a university degree, as well as following their cultural interest. Other common reasons to attend university after high school were the advantage given by a university degree in the job market, the possibility of higher salaries, as well as social aspects of students' life.Â
