Data were acquired in two ways: 1. students took part to a survey answering to a questionnaire, 2. school documents were consulted in order to gain information about gender, age, grades, citizenship, school credit, and type of diploma.
*about 50 percent answered.

In 2021, the majority of high school graduates followed civic education in school in Italy. In particular, ** percent of students learned about Italian Constitution, law, education to legality and solidarity. Other common themes treated in civic education classes were sustainability, environmental education, knowledge and protection of heritage (cultural heritage).
