In 2024, the number of licensed medical genetics specialists in Brazil totaled *** professionals, down from *** geneticists registered two years prior. This figure almost doubled compared to the beginning of the period, when the number of specialized doctors in medical genetics in the South American country added up to *** specialists. As of the last year depicted, most of the registered doctors in Brazil specialized in internal medicine, pediatrics, and general surgery.
