In 2024, the number of licensed pulmonologists in Brazil amounted to approximately doctors, up from specialists reported two years earlier. This figure showed an uptrend since 2013, when the number of physicians specializing in pulmonology, a medical field focused on respiratory tract diseases, reached around professionals. That same year, Brazil had more than ** doctors, mostly specialists.
