This statistic shows the distribution of petroleum consumption in the United States in 2018 and 2019, by source. In 2018, the domestic production of petroleum in the U.S. accounted for more than three quarters of the country's total petroleum consumption. Just one year later, domestic production accounted for 94 percent of U.S. consumption of petroleum.
