In 2023, Asia and the Middle East consumed an estimated 1.31 million metric tons of asbestos, which meant it was the largest asbestos-consuming region in the world. Central and North America, on the other hand, consumed just 1,630 metric tons of asbestos that year, making it the smallest asbestos consuming world region that year.
