How successful is Subway?

Subway is regarded as one of the most successful quick service franchises worldwide. Behind a few other franchises such as McDonalds, Starbucks, and KFC, Subway ranked as the most valuable fast food brand globally in 2025. The chain focuses on selling submarine sandwiches (or “subs”) in a quick-service format, where customers can choose additional toppings as it is made in front of them. 

Is fast food dying?

Although the quick service industry remains a big business, traditional fast food restaurants are having to adapt to a growing demand for more healthy, low calorie options. There has also been a trend towards environmentally conscious consumers adopting specific diets such as gluten-free, high-protein, and vegan. How this will impact the industry in the long run is unclear, although accommodating such needs without sacrificing speed and convenience may determine the future of fast food.
