During a survey fielded in Latin America from October to December 2020, nearly out of five – **** percent of – respondents in the Dominican Republic stated that they had a lot or some trust in the media. Less than ** percent of the interviewees in Chile, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Guatemala, Mexico, Peru and Venezuela expressed the same level of confidence in the media. According to another study, more than half of female teenagers and young adults in Latin America trusted mainstream news media as of March 2021.
