This statistic presents the result of an online survey conducted in June 2017 about the main reasons why smartphone users in Japan use online marketplace apps to shop secondhand goods. The survey revealed that with **** percent the majority of Japanese smartphone owners used peer-to-peer re-commerce apps to buy goods at low costs. It was further found that almost ** percent of respondents used so-called flea market apps to sell their unwanted possessions.
