Annual number of POS terminals in Slovakia 2000-2024
The total number of point of sale (POS) terminals in Slovakia increased significantly during the period of 2000–2024, reaching a total of more than 171 thousand terminals as of 2024. This is an increase from 2022, when around 123 thousand POS terminals were documented in Slovakia. Cash payments have accounted for over two thirds of all transactions over the past five years: in 2019, 72.4 percent of payments were made in cash.
