The total number of payment cards issued in the Euro area from 2009 to 2025 generally rose. As of 2025, there were approximately 873 million cards with a payment function issued in the Eurozone. Just the year before, there were 814 million cards with a payment function in the Eurozone. The country with the most payment cards in the Eurozone is Germany.
