In 1945, Kristin Hanssen of the Norwegian Communist Party became the first female member of a government in Norway when she was Minister of Social Affairs. Since then, the share of women in Norwegian Governments increased steadily, reaching over ** percent for the first time in 2007 under Jens Stoltenberg's Second Government. Since then, around ** percent of the ministers in the Norwegian governments have been women.
