India's financial year begins in April and ends in March. For example, FY 2015 started in April 2014 and ended in March 2015.
Major ports are under the union list while the non-major ports are under the concurrent list of the constitution of India. Therefore, major ports are under the administrative control of government of India while the non-major ports are governed by the respective maritime state governments.

Cargo traffic at major Indian ports FY 2023, by commodity
At the end of fiscal year 2023, petroleum products traffic handled at major ports across India reached just under 218 million metric tons. The total cargo volume handled was more than 784 million metric tons. Until 2020, it had been steadily increasing for the last decade.
