A survey held in the United States in June 2020 revealed that 78 percent of Democrats strongly disapproved of the way Donald Trump treats the media, whereas 48 percent of Republicans very much approved of how the president handles the press. Independents were predictably more neutral in their attitudes to the subject, but were more likely to disapprove than approve of Trump's treatment of the country's media outlets.
