The nature-focused page Aurora Borealis Observatory - Visit Senja was the most popular Facebook page in Norway in January 2021, by number of fans, with over *** million fans. The Aurora Borealis Observatory page also ranked first in the list of most popular Facebook pages of brands in Norway the same year. The Facebook penetration rate in Norway was high in 2020 and ** percent of people aged between 30 and 39 years used the platform as of the third quarter of the year.

Music Facebook pages

The music branch was also popular on Facebook in Norway that year. The Norwegian DJ’s Alan Walker and Kygo came second and fourth in the ranking with **** million and **** million fans respectively. One Direction Norway and A-ha followed with **** million and **** million fans per each page.

Facebook is one of the leading social media platforms in Europe. In the second quarter of 2020, 89 percent of women and ** percent of men between 18 and 29 years were reported to be Facebook users in Norway. Furthermore, in the thrid quarter of 2020 82 percent of respondents who had Facebook profiles used it daily.
