In 2023, apparent steel use in the European Union had reached *** kilograms of finished steel products per capita, a **** percent decrease compared to the previous year. In 2012, steel use dropped slightly after a period of growth. From 2013 onwards, however, it steadily increased until 2018, when it peaked at *** kilograms of finished steel products per capita, then started fluctuating in the following years.
