Petróleos Mexicanos, commonly known as Pemex, had a net income of negative ** billion U.S. dollars in 2024, a steep decrease when compared to a profit of *** million U.S. dollars reported a year earlier. Pemex is Mexico's national oil corporation and held up until recent years exclusive rights over oil exploration and production in the country. Once one of the largest oil companies in the world, Pemex's crude oil production has annually decreased throughout the past decade.
