The Federal government of Mexico derived the largest share of its revenue from non-oil sources throughout the whole period under consideration, such as taxes and state-owned enterprises. The share of this sort of revenue in the government finance peaked in 2020, when it reached ** percent of the total. That year, oil revenues (obtained mainly through the Mexican state-owned petroleum company Pemex) were roughly *** billion pesos. This figure increased the following years, when the Mexican federal government collected billion pesos in oil revenues in 2022.
