This statistic illustrates the number of annual new ultra-low emission vehicle registrations in the United Kingdom (UK) from 2010 to 2018. Since 2014 sales of ULEVs have grown considerably. The number of ULEVs sold in 2014 was greater than the sum of annual sales from 2010 to 2013, and this figure more than tripled by 2018. The credit for this exponential growth in sales of ultra low emission vehicles may be attributed to ever increasing tax benefits and incentives made available by the British government to ULEV owners, including reduced value added tax on electricity used for charging, and exemptions from fuel duty.
