In 2024, approximately thousand hybrid electric variants and about ** thousand electric variants of the Hyundai Kona compact Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) were exported from South Korea. The second generation of Kona models were launched in 2023. The pure electric variant's exports began in February 2018, with domestic sales starting in May of the same year. The first few hybrid variants of the Kona were exported in early 2019, but exports only started in earnest in June. The domestic launch was in August 2019. The Kona is also available with gasoline or diesel engines.
