This statistic is based on the annual EU survey on the use of Information and Communication Technologies in households and individuals. Data are collected on a yearly basis by the National Statistical Institutes and are based on Eurostat's annual model questionnaire.Â
Data refers to the share of individuals who used the internet for internet banking within the last three months before the survey. Internet banking includes electronic transactions with a bank for payment and similar activities, or for looking up account information.
In 2005, ** percent of all individuals used the internet for online banking in Belgium, and this number has increased sharply since then. After 2005, the share of individuals who used online banking increased yearly until 2020, when online banking penetration reached **** percent. 2021 was the first year with a stagnating penetration rate, but the following years saw the share of individuals using online banking increase again. In 2025, online banking penetration decreased but remained close to ** ±è±ð°ù³¦±ð²Ô³Ù.Ìý
