Due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, no data were collected between the second and third quarters of 2020. For that period, figures refer to estimates and models based on passenger numbers and IPS trend data.Â
Data for 2021 do not include estimates for visits across the Irish land border. No data for the Eurotunnel was gathered from January 2021 to June 2022 but estimates include the passenger numbers using that route.
Figures from before January 2024 were taken from previous reports.Â
In June 2024, there were around *** million overseas arrivals in the United Kingdom. This was the highest figure for a month of June since 2019, when it reached over *** million. Based on figures reaching back to January 2018, the month with the highest number of inbound visits came in August 2019, when it totaled **** million.
