This statistic illustrates the results of a survey about the basic reasons why U.S. tablet owners read in 2011. Americans cite a variety of motives for their reading, especially when it comes to long-form content like books or magazine articles. It is sometimes the case that different people cite different motives. In 2011, 85 percents of tablet owners 16 and older say they read at least occasionally for pleasure.
