Whilst ** percent of U.S. adults in urban and suburban areas said in a 2019 survey that they had read at least one printed book in the previous 12 months, the same was true of only ** percent of adults living in rural parts of the United States. Book consumption also varies according to income, age, and format, with print being the most popular.
