As of 2022, it was estimated that around ** percent of adults in the United Arab Emirates did not have sufficient levels of physical activity, the highest share of any country globally. In Kuwait and Cuba, insufficient physical activity levels were also above ** percent.
It is recommended that adults do at least 150 minutes of moderate-intensity physical activity a week, or 60 minutes of moderate-to-vigorous-intensity physical activity. A lack of physical activity can increase the risk for noncommincable diseases such as cardiovascular disease and type 2 diabetes.Â
