Global levels of obesity (BMI ≥30kg/m²) already constitute a serious social problem, which will continue to increase over the next decade, according to a study conducted by the World Obesity Federation. In this way, nearly 2 billion people over the age of five could suffer from this health problem by 2035, representing an increase of more than 93 percent compared to 2020. Childhood obesity is especially concerning, where increases close to 100 percent could be experienced.
