This chart represents the evolution of French people's opinion regarding the usefulness of the journalist profession between 2019 and 2023. In 2019, 41 percent of respondents stated that the journalist profession was very useful in France. In 2023, however, they were 35 percent.
The usefulness of journalists is thus being questioned since, on the contrary, there is an increase in the proportion of respondents finding journalism to be of little use or even completely useless.
