The French government has decided to invest in the development of hydrogen. This involves investing in a future technology, which is also promising in terms of reducing air pollution and combating climate change. In 2021, public authorities invested *** million U.S. dollars to acquire ** hydrogen trains in France. Several tens of millions of U.S. dollars were also invested in the acquisition of research equipment and in Research and Development (R&D) programs. Finally, the French authorities financed several projects selected during the "Territorial Ecosystems" call for projects with a total of ** million U.S. dollars. These projects are funded by the State through the Agency for the Environment and Energy Management (ADEME).
